This page is under construction. I estimate that 70-80%, maybe higher, of the people named SHERRY in America come from Ireland. Not us. I have met people whose name was Americanized to Sherry but our ancestors were in the U.S. long before Ellis Island. Actually, before the U.S. Progenitor Henry Sherry, Sr., was born ca. 1776-1790 in Pennsylvania. He moved his family from Northumberland Co. to Jefferson Co. in the 1830s. He was a founding member of St. James Lutheran Church in Ringgold Twp., Jefferson Co., a German speaking church until the 1880s.
